I am not sure a child could have done that.
It certainly tries to create the impression of child-like creation as was apparently Picasso’s desire - but it seems to be incredibly well balanced and proportioned. Golden I am not sure I could correctly pick the Picasso if you posted an assortment of this style of his work along with some of your kids’ artwork but (and correct me if I am wrong) I would have thought that an experienced art critic, practitioner or theorist could point to the Picasso based on their understanding of the creation of the visual image.
Of course it could just be that my kids are much less artistic than yours!! :)

Even thou it’s a Picasso and therefore done many years ago its still as relevant to day as it ever was because war is always with us and is awful to look at just like this painting, the childlike etchings speak of the childishness and fruitlessness of war. The figure which could be either an ancient dinosaur or a modern cow speak of timelessness, the tail in the lifted position tells us its full of something unpleasant, the head turned toward the observer means you to are being watched, the scribble in the top corner is a direct reference to the enigma code machine of WW2, the parallel lines upon which the timeless creature stands emphasises the cry in every mans heart for peace and justice, never crossing each other.
