What is the best purchase you have ever made?
Published 1 year, 7 months ago in Shopping.10 years ago I bought a secondhand Bernina 1010 sewing machine for somewhere around the $700 dollar mark. I have sewn, literally, thousands of km on this machine and it is still going strong.
About 5 years ago I had it serviced and the maintenance guy said that it needed very little done as it’s innards were like brand new. This model Bernina is very sought after and if I were to sell it today (not that I ever would) I would get at least as much as I paid for it - if not more.
I love my Bernina, she has served me very well and she was undoubtedly the best purchase I have ever made.

My pet mice Stitch and Cotton, bought 2000, died 2003. Happy, healthy, beautiful mice. They were a great purchase, even if the lazy little dears never used their exercise wheel.
My front loader washing machine. After the clunky, old top loader that would twist everything into knots I now throw in clothes that once I would have hand washed. Bliss.
Everything from Gap stores in New York. Great quality - have been wearing many of the items for 10 years… and I don’t think people can tell, but who knows?
The best thing I have ever brought is a plane ticket to wherever I decide to go next!!!
