stupid question of the day
Published 1 year, 9 months ago in My life.Hey guys
can anyone please tell me how to add a link to my posts. I was told that if I wrote down the exact address then it will automatically appear as a link but this does not seem to work. I realise that I am the only person in the whole world who doesn’t know how to do this, so could someone please enlighten me?
Thanking you in anticipation

Hey, that is not a silly question. For posts in your nook, there are some tools above the input window. See http://nooknews.nook.com.au/2007/04/03/show-and-tell-how-to-create-a-link-in-a-post/ for a show and tell. It demonstrates how one word can be made clickable (i.e. hold a far longer webaddress behind it).
In a reply to a post, those tools are not available. (That’s done to stop silly spammers from hiding clickable links). Instead you need to type the web link with a http:// prefix and it’ll do the rest.
Umm, ok, well I guess here comes the silly part of the question - and please remember I am a bit of a computer novice - but I don’t have the icons that you mention in the show and tell.
What do I do now?
Now you really do have me scratching my head. I’ve tried logging into a nook and amending the theme to match your (ie the same scene of Melbourne). When opening a fresh post, it comes up with the toolbar options like those seen here at http://nooknews.nook.com.au/2007/04/03/show-and-tell-how-to-create-a-link-in-a-post/
But these are only visible when creating a fresh post. I don’t have the option when replying to a post.
Do me a favour golden1. Reply here (in your conversation) by typing http://nook.com.au
I’m hoping you too will see the link automatically generated in the reply as being clickable (much like the desired automatic function you mentioned originally in your first post).
Don’t worry - I am probably doing something really stupid or not looking in the right place or something.
When I create a fresh post I can’t see a toolbar anywhere.
I also tried typing the address with the http:// prefix but it doesn’t come up as a highlighted link.
however
http://nook.com.au
Your typed link for “nook” in the above reply is working. It shows as a red “clickable” link.
So I probably need to find a better way to explain the process when creating a new post. Any volunteers among our fellow nookstars here as to how the demonstration might be made clearer?
I find the easiest way is to open the site, highlight the address, copy and then paste into the message,
wWhich is what I did here:-
